Language Test

Language Assessment Test for Interpreters:
We administer the following tests for the Hamilton area:
– Interpreter Language and Skills Assessment Tool (ILSAT)
– Cultural Interpreter Language and Interpreting Skills Assessment Tool (CILISAT)

This evaluates a potential trainee’s language proficiency. A minimum mark of 70% in all of the eight marking categories and a 75% overall average must be achieved to receive an ILSAT/CILISAT certificate. Language certified Interpreters will be added to the ITS Hamilton’s active list.
This test is designed to test the language fluency of the interpreter in English and the other language, as well as the ability to perform consecutive interpretation and sight translation.
